Welcome to Defogging the Future, home of inspired speculation about Book Seven of the Harry Potter series

Defogging the Future:  The Book

Some time soon, probably in the summer of 2007, we will all be part of an event which will never happen again in all of human history. For the last time, a new Harry Potter book will be released to tens of millions of desperate readers throughout the world.  And not just any book - this will be Book Seven of Seven, the final volume of the series. After a decade of wondering, waiting, and endless speculation, Book Seven will tie the
entire Potter series together, answer every riddle, and explain every mystery.

I say the summer of 2007 is too long to wait!   J. K. Rowling has hidden clues throughout Books One through Six--clues about who is going to live and who is going to die, clues about whether Professor Snape is good or evil, and clues about every other question we have.  They're out there, and it's up to us to find them, and that's what I've done in "Defogging the Future."   I'm almost positive I've got the answers to the big questions; about Snape, and who lives and who dies, and why Voldemort tried to spare Lily Potter. I also take a good shot at dozens of other smaller questions as well.  If you're a Potter detective, if you have theories of your own about what happens in "Deathly Hallows," and if you don't want to wait, "Defogging the Future" is the book for you!

ACCIO BOOK !!!  Ordering Explained and Made Simple

If you'd like to order a book you have three options: electronically, using a credit card or by Paypal, or the old-fashioned way, by mailing me a check.  Either way, you'll get an autographed book in about a week.  If you'd like your book autographed to a specific person, please send me an email with the specifics and I'll be happy to sign your book any way you like.

How to Buy Electronically, by Credit Card or Paypal

Just click on the "Add to Shopping Cart" button and follow the steps.  You don't need a Paypal account---credit cards are fine.  After you put in your information, I get an email with your shipping address and email.  I'll send you an email acknowledging receipt, and sign your book. Then I'll wrap up it up, put it in an envelope, hike on down to the post office and mail it out.  It's that simple.

Buying by mail

Until I wrote "Defogging the Future" and set up this site, Paypal was a mystery to me.  If you're not comfortable using it, I more than understand.  Feel free to buy a book the old-fashioned way...send me a check for $12.00 (shipping and handling is free until February 1st) and an address where I should send the book.  Then, as above, I'll autograph your book, wrap it up, put it in an envelope, make that hike to the local post office, and you'll have a book in a week or so.  Use the address below (1112 Montana Ave, Santa Monica, CA  90403.)

International Orders

I'm very happy to be getting orders from overseas.  Since it costs me $7.00 to ship a book to Britain or Australia, I have to charge $17.00 instead of $12.00 per book, but my international customers are still getting a discount, and they'll also get their book in about a week, even in Europe or Australia.

Needless to say, I absolutely guarantee that you'll love "Defogging the Future."  If you don't, send your book back to me and your money will be instantly refunded.

Sites I love

The following Potter-related websites were very helpful to me when I was just getting started.  I would like to thank them all--they don't know how much their support meant to me at the time.  Please visit and them, and tell 'em I sent you.

Immeritus
Winner of the very first J. K. Rowling Fan Site award, this site, and devoted to Sirius Black, Immeritus has more good information than you could read in a year, and exceptionally fine graphics.

Beyond Hogwarts
One of my very favorite sites, devoted to predictions and analysis, just like my book.  They have some of the best Harry Potter discussions on the web.

Harry Potter for Grown-ups
Don't let the name fool you--every Harry Potter fan can get tons of good information from this site.

I Trust Snape
Very friendly people, excellent discussions, and, most importantly, I think they're right about Snape.
